Erin's Christmas Clothing Drive

On Aug. 2, 2019, Erin Langhofer, a social worker at Kansas City's Rose Brooks Center, was shot and killed during a First Fridays event in the Crossroads. Erin was a big fan of "comfy clothes," and in December 2019, the first Comfy Clothes Drive was held in the home of family friends to gather donations for RBC and honor Erin’s birthday. In 2021, volunteers collected a box truck full of clothing, along with $40,000 in cash donations to benefit the women and children at Rose Brooks Center.

This year’s drive will benefit Kansas City’s Healing House, a substance use disorder recovery organization that provides recovery housing and support for men and women.  Healing House comprises 14 private homes and two apartment buildings; its newest home, Erin’s House, is currently undergoing renovation. Your cash donations to furnish Erin’s House will allow Healing House to purchase everything they will need to fill the house with love. In addition, this year, Do Good for Erin is seeking donations of Christmas morning PJs, robes, slippers and underwear for the 230 Healing House residents.

Your purchase of Do Good Merchandise, your donation to furnish Erin’s House, or your donation of Christmas morning clothing for the Healing House residents supports Do Good for Erin.
