Let’s raise the roof on a second Erin’s House!
In 2022, Do Good for Erin partnered with Healing House to renovate and furnish a home for women in recovery. It was so successful that we’re doing it again! This time, we’re working with Friends of Yates, a Kansas City, Kansas, shelter for survivors of domestic violence. This Erin’s House will be a sanctuary for women who’ve been in the shelter but are ready to move into a more independent living situation, one that will provide a supportive, community-based setting where residents can receive individualized case management and services tailored to their needs. An existing single-family home, Erin’s House will accommodate five women at a time. The home is near the KCK Friends of Yates shelter and needs extensive renovation and furnishings. It’s a challenge we’re excited to undertake!

Make the House a Home

What’s the best way to participate in this year’s collection drive? Of course, we’ll welcome financial donations of any amount (see above for what your donation might buy), but we’re also hosting our annual event at Resurrection Church's Overland Park location. Instead of comfy clothes (like the first several years) or toys, we’re asking for BRAND-NEW ITEMS to furnish our second Erin’s House. With your gifts, we will furnish Erin's House first, and then anything left will be offered to the alumni of the Friends of Yates domestic violence center for their own homes. Your gifts will help so many!
