What is Do Good for Erin?

Do Good for Erin is a 501(c)(3) organization that fundraises annually to support organizations that serve survivors of domestic violence.

When was Do Good for Erin founded?

Do Good for Erin began in December 2019 to commemorate the 26th birthday of Erin Langhofer, who was tragically murdered in a random shooting in the Kansas City Crossroads district in August of that year. Erin loved her lounge pants, so friends and family that year decided to collect comfy clothes to donate to Rose Brooks.

Why does Do Good for Erin focus on domestic violence?

Erin was a young social worker at the Rose Brooks Center, a domestic violence shelter in Kansas City. She left a client list whose members, years later, still rave about the help she offered them in their time of extreme need.

Who has Do Good for Erin helped?

Through its annual campaigns, Do Good for Erin has supported projects at Rose Brooks, Friends of Yates, Healing House, and Hope House. It has raised more than $1.2 million, donated truckloads of comfy clothes and toys, and awarded $30,000 in scholarships at the University of Kansas.

Aside from being a social worker, what was Erin’s background?

Erin grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. She graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School in 2012 and received both bachelor’s (2016) and master’s (2017) degrees from the University of Kansas. As an undergrad, she received the Margo Award, the top prize in the School of Social Welfare.
